Artcrank Los Angeles Show

Each Artcrank bicycle art show celebrates the love of creativity and cycling by featuring local artists selling inexpensive limited edition hand-made art prints. Tonight’s show at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood was a fun scene, with lots of folks representing #BikeLA and checking out the fantastic artwork. A portion of the sales go toward helping cycling-related charities.

Bicycle Heaven on Earth

In Groningen, the Netherlands, you see people on bikes everywhere. Half of all trips are via bicycle, thanks to a unique city layout that relegates cars to the outer perimeter, and cycles to the city’s center, making bikes the easiest and fastest way to travel. Lord of Griffith V – Fixed Gear Race in Griffith Park

Yesterday was the fifth Lord of Griffith fixed-gear bicycle race in and around the hills of Griffith park, Los Angeles. The weather was gorgeous for racing, and a ton of LA’s finest fixie foos came out for the annual event which features a course that runs all throughout the park, all hills and not closed off to car traffic. This was not a game for the weak – only fixed-gear, no brakes allowed.

Considering that every day, riding your bike in traffic is a crapshoot of personal safety being risked by the average driver desperately needing to respond “LOL” to a text and almost killing you, smartphone software having a dedicated “Car Mode” is an idea that needs to happen – yesterday.
